I recently bought some new China Glaze nail polishes, and not just any polishes, but three amazing pink neons! They are not new, I think they are actually pretty old. But I just came across them and could not leave without getting them.
All three polishes dried really fast, but matte, so I did use top coat on these swatches, I definitely think they look best with a glossy top coat.
China Glaze – Shocking Pink
Everyone complains about how difficult neons are to photograph, and they are, because they sort of “glow” and that glow is pretty much impossible to capture in a photo!
Shocking Pink is the lightest of these three neons and it might be my favorite! It looks so good on the nails, it literally glows and screams “SUMMER IS HERE!” lol 😉
I did not have to use a white base under this, these swatches are three coats, but I have worn it with just two and it looked good. As long as you are careful when applying you can easily get away with two coats.
China Glaze – Pink Voltage
This is slightly darker than Shocking Pink and it has blue shimmer flashing in the sun!
I did not use a white base for this one either, but I did need three coats for it to look it’s best. But since it dries so quickly three coats really doesn’t bother me!
I tried to capture the shimmer in this close up.
China Glaze – Purple Panic
This polish is called “Purple” Panic, in my opinion it’s a pink… But then again, I call blue what other people call purple and pink what other people also call purple, so who knows? This also has blue shimmer in it which gives it a slight cool undertone (maybe why it’s called purple?). This one is also fantastic, it’s the darkest of the three, and do feel it’s more appropriate for summer than spring. But hey, who says we have to live by the rules?!
Another closeup to show the shimmer.
I know I said Shocking Pink is my favorite, but I do love all three, they are really amazeballs!
