Are you ready for another fall nail polish collection? Today I’m showing you the China Glaze fall 2015 collection – The Great Outdoors!
have a video review as well as a blog post, watch the video to get more of my in depth thoughts about each polish and over all thoughts on this collection.
Gone Glamping is the first of three duo chromes, it’s a gold that shifts green and blue. Unfortunately the blue does not show up on the nails.
I’m not a fan of having to use three coats for full opacity, but below I layered one coat over Take a Hike (left, 3 coats alone on the right) and the color looks much more intense.
Cabin Fever is more pigmented than Gone Glamping, I only had to use two coats of this on its own.
Cabin Fever is a pink and gold duochrome that again looks more intense when layered over a dark base. In the photo to the left below I have 1 coat over Free Bear Hugs, to the right I have two coats alone.
This polish still looks good without a dark base though.
Pondering is my favorite of the duchromes, it shifts purple, green and dark teal blue, it’s really beautiful!
You don’t really need a dark base for this polish, below you can see 1 coat layered over Sleeping Under The Stars (left) and how it looks with 2 coats alone (right).
This is actually a perfect one-coater, you really only need one coat for full opacity of this polish!
I am so impressed with this formula, and the color. It’s a dusty rose nude, and I don’t think I have any polish this light that covers in just one coat!
This lovely warm gray nail polish was almost a one coater, but applying an easy second coat made it perfectly even and opaque.
Let’s Dew It is a glitter topper with blue, purple and some silver glitter. I might want to add a third coat if I was wearing it on its own, but it is pretty opaque with just two as well!
Let’s Dew It sparkles so beautifully in the sunlight, and it reminds me of ice crystals!
I’m surprised by how much I like this dark hunter green polish. I’m not usually a fan of green nail polish, but I actually really like this on my nails!
This is another one-coat-wonder, and the green shade is perfect for fall!
Free Bear Hugs is a dark mahogany red, very vampy and fall appropriate! In some lights it almost looks black, but it is a very dark red.
Make sure you’re careful when applying this, if you get it on your cuticles it will look like they are bleeding, no matter how much you clean up! (Ref. index finger nail)
A dark indigo base with purple shimmer, unfortunately the purple shimmer is not as visible on the nail as in the bottle, but it’s still very pretty!
This is also a perfect one coater, it dries very quickly, but not very shiny, so I would apply a glossy top coat to bring out the purple shimmer.
This is my favorite polish in the entire collection, I think the photo below explains why!
I used three coats for this, I felt it looked a little patchy with only two, but unless you’re doing close up photography two coats would have been enough.
I actually find this slightly odd, bright greenish-yellow polish appropriate for fall! Can someone please explain to me why? Lol 😉
This swatch is only one coat! It’s so pigmented and the formula is so easy to work with!
This is not a pure silver polish (I think), I think it’s a more grayish silver, and I love it!
The second foil polish is a brown taupe, and another polish with a perfect formula!
I got my hair stuck in my middle finger, so I have two coats on that nail, but as you can see there’s not really much of a difference between one and two coats.
